Client Systems was formed in June 1996 when a private equity investor group acquired the three-year-old, wholly owned subsidiary from Distribution Resources Company (now Syngistix). The company distributed the HP 3000 product line as well as Oracle software in North America.
Late in 1997, HP revamped its 3000 product line into the HP e3000. As a result, Client Systems phased out its Oracle distribution to focus exclusively on the HP e3000 product line. The company developed a state-of-the-art warehouse, integration, and customer service center and provided customers with customized systems using a standard process that far exceeded HP's own factory process and delivery terms. In 1999, HP selected Client Systems as its exclusive North American distributor, citing the company's technical knowledge and commitment. In the same year, Client Systems formed Phoenix 3000 to support HP as its authorized provider of pre-owned e3000 servers and peripherals.
Client Systems added additional vendors and products through 2003, when HP discontinued production and sales of new HP e3000 products. During this same time, the company underwent a management buyout and, anticipating HP's decision, shifted processes and personnel to focus on the pre-owned market opportunities while also adding pre-owned HP workstations and Printronix printers, support, and supplies to the product offering.
Client Systems is proud to have served as HP's exclusive North American and now global source for everything e3000; offering complete systems, upgrades, parts, and software. In early 2006, Client Systems joined forces with HP Renew (HP's pre-owned product division) to provide focused marketing and technical sales support for all Renew storage products.
